The two pie charts respectively illustrate statistical information concerning how energy is consumed in an average Australian household and the greenhouse gas emissions that result from these energy consumption.

 

Let us begin with the energy consumption of household facilities in Australia. Obviously,heating consumes the highest proportion of energy, accounting for 42%, followed closely by the data for water heating which also possesses a large percentage-30%.However, the figures for refrigeration, lighting, and cooling are much less significant, 7%,4% and only 2% respectively. Finally, the other 15% of the total energy is consumed by other appliances.

 

Next comes the situation of greenhouse gas emissions from the usage of those household facilities, which shows apparent differences from the first pie chart. First of all,heating, which consumes the greatest amount of total energy, shows a relatively smaller share in greenhouse gas emission, ranking third of the list with a proportion of 

15%. The biggest share of emissions, however, is from water heating, which accounts for 32%. And proportions of greenhouse gas emissions in refrigeration, lighting and cooling, compared with their figures for energy consumption, are nearly doubled.Greenhouse gas emissions that come from other appliances take up the remaining 28%.

 

From what has been mentioned above, we can easily come to the conclusion that most of the energy are consumed by heating and water heating in an average Australian household,while the majority of greenhouse gas emissions are caused by water heating and other appliances.
