Among various communication methods, I like writing letters best. In the fast paced modern society, it seems out of date to write letters. But I think it is the best way to express affections.

 

At first, in my opinion, writing letters is the most formal way of communication. When l have something urgent, I send emails. But most times I'd rather write letters, especially to some old friends. I will choose delicate letter pads and write word-by-word carefully. I learned calligraphy when I was a child. The teachers in the primary school often praised my handwriting. I think good handwriting makes people joyful. I want my friends delighted when reading my letters. In addition, the handwriting can reflect one's personality and taste. There is a saying in China that seeing one's handwriting is like seeing the person himself. You can't enjoy the feeling when reading emails. The typed words on the screen are cold and emotionless. Sometimes I personalized my letters by folding the paper delicately or using special stamps. I also enjoy reading letters written on paper from my friends. It is the most pleased to receive a letter from distant friends.

 

There is another advantage of writing letters. It is that they are safer than emails. Although most people know well how to send emails, few are really familiar with the way they work. There are so many hackers nowadays. They can attack our email boxes and destroy our computers. Sometimes our boxes are full of rubbish mails, and sometimes our mails are gone without reasons. Whenever I send some important mails via Internet, I send them twice for fear that they could lose. But by posting letters I have no worry.

 

I think it is true that technology provides us convenience. But traditional things still have their own strong points.

 

在各种各样的通信方式中,我最喜欢写信。在快节奏的现代,写信似乎已经过时,但我认为这是表达情感最好的方式。

 

首先,我认为写信是最正式的通信方式。有急事的时候我会发电子邮件,但我更喜欢写信,尤其给一些老朋友写信。我会选精美的信纸,然后在上面仔细写下每一个字。我小时候学过书法,小学老师也常夸我字写得源亮。好的笔迹能够让人赏心悦目。我希望我的朋友看到我写的信时,也能感到很快乐。另外,一个人的笔迹也反应出其性格和品味,正如一句格言所说的:字如其人。如果你发邮件的话,你就不能很好地体会到这种感受。在屏幕上打出来的字是冷酷无情的。有时我会有个性地折出精美的信纸或贴一些特别一点的邮票。我也喜欢阅读朋友的来信,收到远方朋友的来信真是件高兴的事。

 

写信还有另外的优点,它比发邮件更安全。虽然有很多人知道怎么发邮件,但很少有人真正熟态它们的工作方式。当今有很多电脑黑客,他们能攻击你的邮箱然后破坏你的电脑。有时我们的邮箱里有垃圾邮件,有时我们的邮件也会莫名其妙地不见了。不管什么时候,我通过电脑发送重要的邮件,我总是会发两遍以免丢失。但是寄信的话就没有这些担心了。

 

科技给我们带来方便这是册庵置疑的,但是传统的东西仍然有它们存在的优点。
