1、What kind of place do Chinese people live in?

中国人民都生活在什么样的地方?

Some people live in bungalows which are inherited from their ancestors; others live in flats which are located in the city.

有些人住在平房,这些平房继承自他们的祖先;其他人则居住在城市的单元楼里。

2、What kind of living place do Chinese like?

中国人喜欢居住在什么样的地方?

They prefer spacious rooms with enough sunshine. They also want their living place to be close to bus stops or some convenience stores.

他们更喜欢宽散并且有足够阳光的房间。同时他们也希望他们生活的地方接近汽车站或一些便利店。

3、Do you like this kind of place?

您喜欢这样的地方吗?

Sure. I also want my home to be located in a tranquil place. I don't like noisy community.当然。我也希望我的家安置在一个宁静的地方。我不喜欢国杂的社区。

4、What are the advantages and disadvantages of living with your family?

You can get some support and help from them. They can take care of you when you fall sick. You will not feel lonely because you can chat with them. But, you will not have freedom. For example, you have to go to sleep before midnight. You shouldn't go back home too late. There are too many rules and regulations.

你可以从他们那里得到一些支持和帮助。比如在你生病的时候,他们可以照顾你。你不会感到孤独,因为你可以与他们交谈。但是,你将不会有自由。举例来说,你必须在午夜前入睡,也不能回家太晚了,有很多规矩要遵守。

5、Are you going to move out?

I guess so. I want to be independent. If I always live with my parents, I will never really grow up.

6、Do young people like living with old people nowadays?

I guess not. They have different habits. Young people want to stay up late and get up late,while old people want to get up early. Besides, young people like listening to music with strong rhythm, and this is a burden for the old.

我猜想不会。他们有不同的习惯。年轻人想晚睡晚起,而老人们想早起。此外,年轻人喜欢听节奏强烈的音乐,对于老年人这会是一个负担。

7、What are the advantages and disadvantages living with them?

You don't have to do housework because they will do everything for you, but they can't stop nagging about your behavior.

你不需要做家务,因为他们将为你做一切家务,但同时你也不能阻止他们对你的行为喷叭。

8、Can you imagine what room is like in the future?

你能想象出未来的房间是什么样的吗?

The facilities will become more advanced, and you can use your computer to run everything at home.

设施将更为先进,并且您可以用您的计算机在家里做一切事情。

9、What are the differences between the north and the south in house and life styles?

北方和南方在住房和生活方式上有什么区别?

China is a large country, so there exist lots of differences in people's houses and life styles. The houses in the north are usually high buildings along streets, while the houses in the south are usually small buildings built along river banks, though there are some skyscrapers in downtown areas. As for life style, southerners prefer to eat light and sweet food, but northerners like salty food; people in the north go home early at night in winter, and they store at home much stuff especially pickled Chinese cabbage for the whole winter, while people living in the south have colorful nightlife all around the year.

中国是一个大国,因此人们在住房和生活方式上存在许多不同。北方的住房通常是沿街的高楼,而南方往往是沿河岸边的小楼,尽管市区有一些摩天大楼。至于生活方式,南方人偏好吃清淡和甜的食物,但北方人则喜欢威的食品;北方人在冬天晚上回家很早,而且储存很多物品,特别是为整个冬天准备的腌大白菜,而生活在南方的人们整年都有多姿多彩的夜生活。

10、Do young people nowadays live with their parents in China? How about you?

中国现在的年轻人会与他们的父母一起住吗?你的情况是什么样的?

Some young people nowadays live with their parents so as to save large sums of money, and their parents can help them to do some housework and look after their children. In my opinion, youngsters at the age of sixteen to twenty-one might as well live with their parents because they're not old enough to support themselves and their main task during this period of time should be their study. After they can be financially independent of their parent, they can do more to repay their parents. But as far as l'm concerned, I live in a flat of my own, and I think I can gain freedom to a great extent.

Nevertheless, I usually visit my parents on weekends to enjoy the delicious dishes cooked by my mother and have a chat with my father.

如今一些年轻人与他们的父母住在一起是为了节省一大笔钱,而且父母可以帮他们做家务以及照顾孩子。在我看来,16岁到21岁的年轻人可以和他们的父母住在一起,因为他们还不够年纪来养活自己,而且他们这段时间的主要任务应当是学习。在他们可以在经济上独立于他们的父母以后,他们可以再更多地回报父母。但就我而言,我住在我自己的公寓里面,我认为我可以拥有极大的自由。不过我经常在周末到父母家去享受妈妈做的美味菜肴,还跟爸爸聊聊天。

11、What are the differences between the houses in the countryside and those in cities?

农村和城市的房子有什么不同?

People living in the countryside have more free space, and they usually build big house in which there are many well-decorated rooms. And what is the most important is that they have large yards for raising poultry and beautiful gardens for planting vegetables. But even nowadays people in the country of the north still sleep on "kang", which is a kind of heated brick bed, while in cities, high buildings and skyscrapers occupy lots of space. People usually live in apartments or flats, in which there are living-rooms, dining-room, kitchens and toilets.

居住在农村的人们有更多的自由空间,而且他们通常建造拥有很多精装修房间的大房子。还有最重要的是,他们有很大的庭院饲养家禽和美丽的菜园来种菜。但即使在今天,北方农村的人们还是睡在“烧”上,这是一种加热的砖床,而在城市,高楼和摩天大楼占据了大量空间。人们通常居住在公寓房间或套房,里面有客厅、餐厅、厨房和厕所。
