1、What are the differences between things made by hand and mass products?

手工艺品跟工业品的不同之处是什么?

 

I think hand-made things contain much personal emotions and feelings. They represent the maker's creativity ability and taste. If I send a gift to my friends I like to choose the hand-made objects. Mass products look the same without personality. But they have their own advantages. They are cheap and easy to get.

我认为手工艺品蕴含着很多人们的情感在里面。它展示了制作者的创造力和品味。如果我要送礼物给我的朋友,我会送手工艺品。工业品看起来千篇一律,没有个性。但是它们有它们的长处,它们相对便宜而且容易购买。

 

2、What handicrafts are there in China?

中国有什么手工艺品?

 

China is a country with long history and many handicrafts, like embroidery, paper-cutting and clay-making. But most young people can't make these handicrafts.

中国是个历史悠久的国家,有很多手工艺品,像刺绣、剪纸和陶瓷。但是绝大部分年轻人不会制作这些手工艺品。

 

We've got paper-cutting, embroidery, clay dolls and seal carving.

我们有剪纸、刺绣、捏泥人和篆刻。

Yes, I think so. Now the government has done much to protect old handicraft. We all hope our handicraft will pass down. They are kept in the museums now.

Yes. We have handicraft class in primary school. we learn paper-cutting and something else on class. I like having the class very much.

Yes, I think so. Maybe Chinese people look conservative to some extent, but they are acute to new things, and they always get ready to learn advanced technology.

我觉得是的。可能中国人在某种程度上看起来比较保守,但是他们对新事物是很敏锐的,而且他们总是时刻准备着要学习先进的技术。

They learn advanced technology, medicine, administration, etc. from other countries. They will do some extreme sports or have some new entertainment.

他们从别的国家学习先进的技术、药学、管理等。他们会做一些极限运动和一些新的休闲娱乐活动。

学习新技能的最佳年龄是多大?

 

It depends. If a person wants to play a musical instrument, the earlier the better, but when

a person grows up, he can obtain the ability to understand the new skills better.

这得依情况而定。如果一个人想要演奏一种乐器,越早越好。但是当一个人长大后,他会对新技巧理解得更好。

你对新技能有兴趣吗?

 

Absolutely. Learning new skills makes me have a sense of achievement. Besides that,learning a new skill can help you in some way in the future. For example, you can find a job easily after you have grasped the computer technology.

我绝对感兴趣,学习新技能让我很有成就感。此外,学习新技能在将来的某些方面可以帮助你。例如,熟练掌握计算机技巧后,你将会比较容易找到工作。

 

9、Do you prefer to learn new skills by yourself or with a teacher?

你学习新技能是喜欢自学还是跟老师学?

 

Well, if I start to learn a new skill, I guess a teacher is very important. He can tell me the important parts in learning the skill, which can save me a lot of time.

嗯,如果我开始学习一项新技能,我觉得老师是很重要的。他可以告诉我们学习新技能中的重要部分,这可以省掉我很多时间。

 

10、What's the difference between women and men in learning a new skill?

在学习新技能的方面,男人和女人有什么区别?

 

Men like to learn the mechanical skills like fixing the car or repairing something, but women prefer to learn the skills like makeup or knitting.

男人会喜欢像修车或者维修等一些机械活,但是女人喜欢像化妆或者编织的技艺。

手工艺品的优点在于什么?

 

They can remind people of a nation. They symbolize the history. They can carry people back to the past. Paper-cutting is a good case.

它们能使人们想起一个国家,它们象征着历史,它们可以带领人们回到过去。剪纸就是一个好例子。

It depends. Young people think that handicrafts are too old-fashioned. Besides, they don't like them because they can hardly be used in daily life.

A work of art may be unique. Its design and craftsmanship must be delicate.

在中国现在什么技能是最重要的?

 

If you want to survive, you should have three basic skills like computer skill, language skill,and driving skill. Of course, you also should have the ability of communication.

如果你想生存下去,三种基本技能你必须要会:计算机技能、语言技能和驾驶技能。当然,你还要有沟通的技巧。

 

15、Do you want to learn traditional skills?

你想学习传统技艺吗?

 

I don't think it's necessary. It's going to be a waste of time. It can become your hobby, but you can't depend on that for living in modern society.

我认为没必要。这会浪费时间。它可以成为你的爱好,但是你不能依靠它在现代社会中生存。

 

16、What's the difference between traditional crafts and mechanic products?

传统工艺和机器生产的产品区别在哪儿?

 

Generally speaking, handicrafts are delicate and it takes time and patience and skill to make. As to mechanic products, you can produce them in a large quantity, and they are not so valuable as handicrafts.

一般说来,手工艺品是精致的,而且需要时间、耐心和技巧来制作。而对机器化产品来说,你可以大批量地生产,而且它们没有手工艺品那么有价值。

 

17、Do you think that handicrafts will disappear?

你觉得手工艺品会消失吗?

 

No. They are the tradition of a country. People will try to preserve them. When people see delicate objects, they may be so proud of their tradition.

不会,它们是一个国家的传统。人们将会设法保护它们。当人们看到精致的物品时,他们会为他们的传统感到骄傲。
