PART 2
Describe a memorable event in your life.

what happened exactly
and explain why this event was memorable for you.
You will have to talk about the topic for one to two minutes.
You have one minute to think about what you are going to say .

I'd very much like to talk about an event that happened to me three years ago. I volunteered and finally was selected to join a team for an assignment of going to the countryside and helping with the children dropped out of school there. To be candid, I didn't have a clear picture in my mind of the situation of those children before I went, which was why I was given quite a good shock when I reached our destination and found out that the real condition was far worse than what I've imagined. All I saw there as a classroom was a shabby and cramp house with barely a roof. There were not enough benches for the students to sit on, thus piles of wasted bricks were used for a substitute. I was amazed by the blackboard which was poorly completed by a few rough brushes of black ink on the wall. During my conversation with the local kids, I came to know more in detail about the harsh condition and the severe shortage of finance assisting the education. I was more than once overwhelmed by the powerful desire they've shown me to ac-quire the opportunity of learning. Come to compare it with the advantages presented to me for study and living, I was speechless and for the very first time in my life I truly realised there were countless people in this world who were deprived of their inborn rights and who longed for the return of them throughout their lifetime. So, the least I can do is to cherish what I have and share them with others whenever I can. It is indeed a memorable event in my life!

我特别想谈一谈一件发生在三年前的事情。当时我志愿加入一个赶赴农村帮助失学儿童的小组，并成功入选。说实话，在去前我对那些孩子们的情况并不是很清楚。所以到了之后，我真的大吃了一惊，因为我发现真实的条件比我想象的要恶劣得多。我看到的教室只不过是一个几乎没有房顶的简陋而狭小的房子。学生们没有足够的长椅，就用废砖头搭起来作为代替。我还惊讶地看到所谓的黑板只不过是用黑墨水在墙上粗糙的划了几下而已。在我与当地的孩子们谈话的过程中，我更详细地了解到严峻的条件和教育经费的严重短缺。我一次又一次地被他们想要获得学习机会的渴望而感动。和我的学习和生活条件相比，我说不出话了。并平生第一次真切地感受到世界上有无数的人一出生就被剥夺了应有的权利，而他们一生都在渴望能拥有它们。因此，我至少可以做到珍惜我所拥有的，并在可以的时候和别人去分享。这确实是我人生中一件难忘的事！
