Part I

Writing    (30 minutes)

Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay commenting on the saying "Seek to understand others, and you will be understood."You can cite examples to illustrate your views. You should write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words.

 

三段式：

首段（中心论点段）+中间段（论点段落+拓展）+结尾段（总结概括）

 

首段：开门见山+拓展+引入话题

 

①A famous proverb goes like this：“Seek to understand others, and you will be understood”拓展谚语：名词性从句：相互理解—引人深思的说法：what a thought-provoking saying it is

②If we explore further，we will realize +宾语...

If we explore further，we will realize what a thought-provoking saying it is.【条件状语从句+名词性从句】

③This proverb underscores +宾语（名词）...【This underscores...】【理解的重要性】

This proverb underscores the significance of understanding.

 

中间段：展开论述+举例子

①One of the reasons that+主语+is so vital is that+从句...【相互理解：构成友好关系的基础】

One of the reasons that mutual understanding is so vital is that it forms the basis of all friendly relationships.【相互理解】

②...allows ...to be done，so that+从句...【使得......得到......，从而......】（相互理解：共同点和共同愿景）

Mutual understanding allows existing differences between two or more parties to be acknowledged，accepted and respected，so that a common ground and a collective vision can be found.

举例子.....【以后讲解如何举例子】

 

结尾段：结尾段（总结概括）相互理解：增进善意——人际关系更有意义

不同文化：相互理解—增进友谊—有助于美好的社会

All in all，when we seek to understand others，we elevate the goodwill and make interpersonal relations more meaningful. For different cultures，seeking  to understand each other will boost friendship and be conductive to building a better society.
